Stevens Auction Company is pleased to announce the commission to sell the estate of the late Mrs. Mildred Taft who lived in one of Mississippi's most historic homes. The Goodwin-Harrison House was built by W.W. Goodwin as his in town planter home. The seventeen room Greek Revival Mansion has been a landmark on the beautiful main street of the quant old south style town. After many years of neglect the house fell into disaray and was uninhabitable. Mrs. Taft bought the home in 1983 and started the long journey of restoration which would take her several years to complete. Mrs. Taft finished the project, moved in, then started the task of furnishing the home with the right antiques to complete her dream. She traveled extensively to buy the right piece to fill the proper spot and was in attendance at our auctions through the years, all the way to her death in 2009 at age 95. We will also be selling select items from two other estates from Tupelo and Meridian, Mississippi.

Open house preview will be Friday, September 19th, 2014 from 10AM to 6PM. Auction held under tents rain or shine with comfortable seating and refreshments available.
