123 Rochelle Dr., Calhoun City, MS 38916

Stevens Auction Company is pleased to announce the commission to sell at public auction the entire estate (including real estate) of the late Guy Robert Farmer Sr., M.D. (1936-2012). This auction will be held on-site at Dr. Farmerís manor home in Calhoun City, Mississippi.

Dr. Farmer loved the people of Calhoun County, and he provided quality health care for his neighbors, sometimes at no cost, and sometimes in exchange for the local fare from farmers or friends. Dr. Farmerís five (5) decades of service went beyond his medical practice, though. Beginning in the 1970ís, he served, with great pride, for two terms as a Calhoun City alderman and also Police Commissioner. During Dr. Farmerís tenure, Calhoun City saw an historic expansion of recreational, economic, and educational infrastructure and opportunities for its citizens. Tennis courts and basketball courts were built. The Calhoun City Industrial Park was established. A new library was erected, along with new fire and police department buildings and improved public housing facilities. And, of course, Dr. Farmer assisted in ensuring the location of the County hospital would be in his beloved Calhoun City. The County nursing home followed suit, ultimately built by the hospital.

The auction will include beautiful antique furniture, original works of art, jewelry, handmade Persian rugs, hundreds of unusual glassware pieces, antique chandeliers, crystal, china, and hundreds of other unique items. In addition, weíll be selling hunting, boating, and fishing equipment, along with a tractor & bush hog, and an almost-new Harley Davidson motorcycle.

The two-story mansion, with pool, pool house, and five (5) acres of land will also be sold at auction. Interested parties should call Marsha Ballard of Southern Realty and Management Company at (662)-369-7061.
