ESTATE AUCTION

609 N. Meridian Street, Aberdeen, MS 39730

Five blocks north of the Downtown Aberdeen, MS

Stevens Auction Company is proud to announce the commission to offer at auction the lifetime collection of the late Ken Wadginski of Hollow Rock, TN. Mr. Wadginski was a decorated, veteran, Marine officer of World War II, Korea and Vietnam before he retired and moved to Hollow Rock some 35 years ago.

In the wake of disappearing small towns all across the South, Mr. Wadginski started collecting important evidence which proved the existence of these little corners of history. He gathered up old hardware and drug store showcases, as well as timeless items from Southern general stores, hotels, train depots, and other relics in danger of being lost or forgotten. He also amassed a small collection of antique cars and fine antique furniture which he stored in some of the remaining buildings of the ghost town of Hollow Rock.

You simply will not want to miss this auction. The first half of Mr. Wadginski’s estate was offered at auction in Huntington, TN by Kennedy Auction Service, of Selmer, TN, on February 6, 2009. The remaining items to be offered by our firm in Aberdeen in March are the select, prized pieces from the estate. Highlights include one of the finest back bars offered in the U.S. in the last decade [taken by Mr. Wadginski from a drug store in Big Sandy, TN, a town lost to history] as well as a wonderful collection of guns from various military conflicts. Be sure to make plans to join us.
